A piece of European inspiration, as if it had been rescued from an old church after traveling through time.
This medal was born from bringing together some of the things I love most: Our Lady of Lourdes in her grotto, bougainvillea growing around her, and the ancient ex-votos that speak of faith, promises, and gratitude.
I imagined the grotto embraced by bougainvillea, almost as if it had been growing there for years. Embedded in its walls are small hearts inspired by traditional ex-votos, symbolically left by those who once came to Mary to give thanks for a grace received, a prayer answered, or simply to place in her hands what they carried in their hearts.
Each piece is individually handcrafted in 950 silver, with an organic and beautifully imperfect shape that preserves the subtle marks of the artisanal process and gives it the character of an antique devotional medal.
Its intention
A medal to ask, give thanks, and remember. A way of symbolically leaving our own heart in the Grotto of Lourdes and thanking Mary for those graces, great or small, that we feel we have received.
Bougainvillea growing around the grotto and small hearts embedded in its walls… like traces of all the prayers that once found their way to Her.
